Before you can edit your site, you'll need to

  1. put a password into the vinetype.config file
  2. set permissions on your vinetype* folder

* if your setup is using the alternate file placement method, your vinetype folder is the one you created with the very long name.

Excellent suggestion. I've updated the Vine Type site to include an example screenshot of a administration panel after log in.
